Challenge
RSVP needed a bookshop with a guest checkout so the logged in RSVP user would not be disrupted or confused by being asked to log in again when purchasing a book. The site had to look just like the main RSVP site. A professional fulfillment process was required to accommodate increased volumes.
Solution
RSVP received a highly modified solution so user could purchase without login but still be able to track the shipping status of their delivery. A fulfiller extension was built to allow low priveliged backend users to pick and pack and automatically notify users of their delivery status.
Results
The RSVP shop has a very simple checkout process which does not require login but can still allow the customer to monitor their delivery status by using the ir email address as the defacto username and the order ID as the password. In the backend, the new Fulfiller extension gives the Pick And Pack staff a very simple way of finding items to be fulfilled, placing orders on backorder and automatically advising the customer all the way through the purchasing process.
The shop is templated like the main website causing an almost transparent transition from main site to shop
